Dear Sir or Madam,

Greetings! My name is Courtney McKeand. I am the Art Show Director for MOBICON X, one of Alabama’s premiere Science Fiction, Fantasy, Gaming, Media and Anime/Manga Conventions. Our annual convention will be held in beautiful Mobile, Alabama from May 18-20, 2007. We are a not-for-profit organization and, as such, we support a local charity each year chosen by our Board of Directors. This year’s charity will be the Bay Area Food Bank (a division of America’s Second Harvest- http://www.bayareafoodbank.org ). My assistants and I invite you to attend and/or submit your work to our three-day art show. Space is limited, so please be sure to send your registration as soon as possible. The deadline for Art Show registration and payment is March 1, 2007.

MOBICON accepts art in any medium that reflects the themes of our convention. For your convenience, I have included an Art Show Registration Form and a copy of the MOBICON Art Show Rules. Please be sure to read the rules carefully. MOBICON is growing and we have made numerous changes to our Art Show rules to better accommodate both the artists and guests. You will also find a copy of the Art Show Control Sheet, Art Show Print Shop Control Sheet and Bid Sheets. Please feel free to make as many copies as you need. If you have your own forms, you are welcome to substitute them instead.

MOBICON X will feature the premier of our Artist’s Alley and awards for pieces entered into the Art Show! Ribbons will be given for Best In Show, Best Color, Best Black & White, Best Sci-Fi, Best Fantasy and People’s Choice. Additionally, if you plan to attend MOBICON X, you can register for the Attending Artist’s Membership badge at a reduced rate from the Standard Membership badge price.

Per city, county and state regulations, 1% city sales tax, 4% county sales tax and 4% state sales tax will be added to the gross sale of each purchase to be paid by the buyer. By registering for the Mobicon Art Show, you agree to allow MOBICON, Inc. and its agents to report and remit all applicable sales taxes.
