Mark Poole is an artist with a BA degree (fine arts and design) from the University of South Carolina. He has worked full time in the commercial illustration field doing album covers, catalogs, automotive renderings and too many other normal things to list, but now concentrates in the Science Fiction and Fantasy realms.
High Fantasy is usually what emerges from the tip of his brush, scenes of idealic landscapes that concentrate on mood and usually have castles and some form of wild life.
He has worked in the industry for 6 years and has illustrated over 800 cards, including more than 200 cards for Wizards of the Coast's Magic the Gathering and Jyhad card games alone). TSR, Daedulas Games (Shadowfist), Companion Games (Galactic Empires), Realism Entertainment, QQP, Mayfair Games, Thundercastle Games (Towers in Time), Shadis Magazine, Alderac Entertainment (Legends of the 5 Rings), I.C.E. (Middle Earth), New Millennium (Battle Lords of the 21st Century), Cactus Games (Redemption), Computer Gaming World, Black Dragon Press (Tempest of the Gods), Conjure Magazine, The Duelist, Quintessential Mercy Studio and Last Unicorn Games are some of the more recent companies for whom he has worked.
Mark has his own line of limited edition prints in addition to magic prints, which he offers at conventions and galleries worldwide. Mark is also a professional bass player and has been playing for over 15 years now; he has toured, recorded three albums and still records in his spare time with the progressive band Albion. He also tours with Todd Norris on the club circuit playing straight up rock and roll. He resides in Lexington, South Carolina with his wife Kippie, Kyrian and new son Markus.
