Debbora Wiles
Author & Artist
Debbora was born in Meridian, Mississippi, April 17, 1953. She has been married for 25 years and has two teenage children. She currently lives in Florida.
Debbora has been massively creative all her life. She took art and writing all her school years and has taken hundreds of art courses both at college (under artist/writer Homer Casteel) and in the open market (Art Instruction Schools) and she studied under Watercolor master artist Don Crossly a student of John Pike . After receiving a number of certifications she opened a commercial art business in 1983 where she did everything logos to commissioned fine art pieces. But in a small town there wasn't enough to keep her busy. She began doing art shows and over the last few years her art has been shown in New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Biloxi, Pensacola, Chattanooga, Atlanta and many more cities. Currently she shows her fantasy art at Science Fiction and Fantasy Conventions all across the USA.
But that is not all she does, she is also a published writer. She describes her career as a two headed dragon. With one with a head in the publishing world and one head in the art world it always keeps her busy and sometimes takes unexpected turns. She has been published in Writer's Digest, Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Magazine , Pensacola Magazine, Gulf Coast Computing Magazine and she was at one time a stringer and photographer for two local newspapers. She illustrated the book, The Good Ole Days by Agnes Likens that included cleaning and presenting many very old, photo's, maps, ads and illustrations from the 1930's. She also wrote and illustrated The Adventures Of HB And Prize , a point of sale coloring book for children that was done for H.B. Enterprises Corporation. Her short stories in science fiction has appeared in Tense Moments Magazine and in Horizons magazine. She has also done some scriptwriting (no she hasn't heard back from Paramount yet) and her stage play (with a 6 person cast) at recent science fiction and fantasy convention took all the top prizes. She also did all the costumes for this including a 14 foot two person, black, gray and red...Dragon (of course!) with electric eyes, hinged jaw, and piped "smoke" who's head stands nearly 4 feet tall alone. She enjoys working in all forms of fantasy and science fiction themes.
