ARTICLE I-Purpose
The Standing Rules shall set policies and standards for the conduct of MOBICON members, retailers, guests, and artists.
ARTICLE II-Amendments And Changes
The Standing Rules may be amended at any regular meeting of the Board of Directors by a majority vote of the voting members in attendance.
ARTICLE III-
Current General Standing Rules
- All rules and by-laws of MOBICON must be followed as stated in the program book.
- Membership badges must be visibly displayed above the waist and to the front of the body at all times to gain access to, or remain in, any Convention event.
- Membership badges are not transferable after the Convention has opened.
- Any member may be asked for personal identification to verify membership at any time.
- No illegal substances will be allowed on Convention premises.
- No abusive or rowdy behavior.
- Smoking will be allowed in designated areas only. The State of Alabama says you must be age 19 or older to smoke cigarettes.
- No food or beverages allowed in Art Show, around computer equipment or the Retailers Room, except for registered Retailers.
- No weapons will be allowed unless they are part of a costume. All costuming weaponry must be kept peace-bonded. Under no circumstances will real, live firearms be allowed.
- Any damage caused by a member of the convention to hotel or convention property will be the responsibility of that member.
- Indecent or obscene exposure of body parts will not be tolerated.
- Theft of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult to gain membership to the convention. We are not a babysitting service.
- Pets are not permitted in any convention area.
Failure to comply with any rules or regulation of the Convention hotel will be grounds for immediate ejection from the premises.
ARTICLE IV - Current Retailer Room Standing Rules
All rules and by-laws of MOBICON must be followed as stated in the program book.
- Only registered Retailers are allowed to sell in the Retailers Room.
- No subletting without prior written notification and approval from MOBICON.
- Merchants are responsible for any required licensing, bonding, and/or insurances.
- Items may not be attached to the walls. Displays must be freestanding and cannot block the isles. Tablecloths, table covers, and backdrops are not provided by the convention.
- No Pornographic material or sexual paraphernalia may be on display. Such items should be completely covered or removed.
- One stack of flyers per business is allowed on the fan or freebie table.
- Setup must be complete by opening of the Convention. Doors will open to the merchants 15 minutes prior to the public each day during the Convention. The room must be clear of all persons 15 minutes after the close of the business day.
- Advertising events that occur at the same time as MOBICON is prohibited.
Breakdown begins at 3pm on the last day of the convention. Please do not start early.
ARTICLE V - Current Art Show Standing Rules
- All rules and by-laws of MOBICON must be followed as stated in the program book.
- Only registered artists shall be allowed to display and sell in the art show per rules set forth in the art show packet.
- Per regulations AL sales tax will be added to the gross sale price of all purchases to be paid by the buyer.
- Resale of art through the Art Show is prohibited. All work must be the property of the exhibiting artist.
- MOBICON reserves the right to refuse exhibition of any work for any reason and reserves the right to determine if an art piece is of an adult nature or not.
Photography, food, and drinks are not allowed in the art show without written permission of the Art Show Director. Press may take wide-angle shots of the room or photograph a particular artist’s panels for journalistic purposes only with permission of the artist and the Art Show Director.
