Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix – FRESH. OUT.
Commercial taco seasoning packets may seem convenient, but they contain corn flour and corn starch as well as food additives like Maltodextrin and Silicon Dioxide. Your body treats Maltodextrin like glucose, and Silicon Dioxide, which prevents caking, is also used to make concrete and glass. Now, those are things you know. You’re welcome. That same packet of taco seasoning contains over 2,500mg of sodium (salt is often the second ingredient), so it’s pretty clear to see the benefits of having Homemade Taco Seasoning in your spice cabinet. You control the ingredients, heat, and sodium content – oh, and it’s paleo-compliant and gluten-free.
