Sugar-Free Mocktail Mojito – FRESH. OUT.

Mojitos are a wonderful cocktail concoction, filled with the bubbly refreshment of lime and mint…but they’re also full of alcohol and sugar, and we avoid both. So, we made a Sugar-Free Mocktail Mojito that is every bit as refreshing without the sugar or booze buzz.

A sugar-free, nonalcoholic Mojito you can enjoy anytime.

  1. Place mint leaves and one wedge of lime into a large glass and use a drink muddler to crush together. You want to release the oil from the leaves and break up the lime a bit, blending the flavors.
  2. Add sweetener and the juice from two lime wedges (it’s cool if chunks of lime fall in while you’re squeezing the wedges) and use the muddler to crush again. With the muddler still in place, fill the glass about half way with sparkling water, then remove the muddler and add the ice.
  3. Pour remaining water into glass until almost full. Stir well, then add rum extract, one drop at a time (drop onto the stirring spoon to be safe, then stir in). Note: Extract potency varies by brand, so taste in between adding more drops when making for the first time.
  4. Garnish with additional mint leaves and remaining lime wedge.

To make simple syrup, add 1/2 cup Lakanto Classic monk fruit sweetener (we use Lakanto here because it is most like granular sugar, and not a powdery consistency) and 1/2 cup boiling water to a small mason jar and stir until sweetener has dissolved. Cool completely then store in refrigerator up to a week. Stir before each use.
